You've probably heard about ‘speed dating' on the TV or in the press but in-case you haven't the aim is to provide busy single professional men and women with an opportunity to meet around 20 people of the opposite sex for 4 minute mini-dates in relaxed, sophisticated surroundings. Expressdate events offers a new, safe and trendy way to date in a fun, light hearted atmosphere. On an Expressdate event you get to enjoy a great night out, meeting new people who you probably would never have otherwise met and maybe even meet the person of your dreams!
In short just about anybody, expressdate targets professional and semi-professional people so we get lots of teachers, nurses, doctors, sales managers, IT professionals, accountants, bankers, etc etc. Most speed daters are probably just like you, busy professionals who want to meet more people and who value their time. They're generally normal, intelligent attractive people who just aren't meeting singles through their work or immediate circle of friends. They may have tried other ways of meeting people but they all take time – something that's in short supply in today's busy world. Our events are just like going to a stylish bar where everyone is single, professional and looking for friendship, or something more serious. Its safe, relaxed and a lot of fun.
When you arrive you will be greeted by a host and given your Match Card and nametag. Once everyone has arrived the compere will explain how speed dating works and answer any questions. Then the dating begins. Ladies will stay seated throughout the evening while every four minutes we ring a bell and the men move round to the next lady. After each date you record whether you would like to see that person again on your Match Card, which is collected by us at the end of the evening.
You will typically get around twenty dates depending on the venue. In our experience this makes for a busy & successful night.
I'm sure you can imagine, four minutes can seem like a very long time with someone you don't like. Its our experience that four minutes is about the right amount of time to decide whether you like each other, have common ground and if you're prepared to invest further time in a follow-up date.
You can talk about most things but we provide you with a list of suggested topics to make the most of your mini-dates. The best idea is to avoid the standard questions but to ask about things that will make you stand out from the crowd – most importantly be yourself and have fun.
Wear what you feel comfortable in but don't forget, that as with any date, first impressions count – smart casual seems to be the order of the day but its really down to you.
We will contact you within 24 hours of the event whether you have Matches or not. You will receive the first names and contact details of all your matches – then its over to you to make further contact with each other.
Ofcourse you can, the more the merrier. Everyone must register separately though, to ensure the confidentiality of your Matches.
Most people come on their own. Its really relaxed though, our friendly hosts meet you when you arrive and get you into the swing of things straight away so you're not on your own for long.
Absolutely, there are always new people to meet as old attendees meet their match.
You just need to be single and be over 18 years old.

To ensure a successful evening we need to have an equal balance of men and women and know in advance how many people will be attending each event.
Simply check out our Home page, select your chosen event and complete the online booking form and choose your method of payment. On receipt of this you will be sent your confirmation details and an event brief providing you with lots of helpful information regarding your event.
Yes ofcourse. The age ranges specified are guidelines only. However, if you are or appear to be well outside the age range you are unlikely to get matches
A - Usually most of our events are for the 25-45 age range where the demand is greater. We do run some events for older age groups but these don't run as frequently. Age ranges also vary for particular events
A - We get lots of requests from women in their late 40s and 50s asking us to run events. Unfortunately we don't have enough demand from men in the same age bracket to run as many events as we would like. And with speed dating you do need approximately equal numbers of men and women.
