Martha and Chris – Married - August 2004
Congratulations to Martha and Chris, both of Bridgnorth, Shropshire who met at our Speed Date event in Shifnal on 4 th November 2003 and married only 9 months later on 7 th August 2004, after a whirlwind romance.
Martha, a 34 year old Primary School Teacher met Chris, a 35 year old ICT Technician on her very first visit to a Speed Date event, it was just Chris's second.
Following the Speed Date event both Martha and Chris received a number of Matches to follow up, but they realised that they only had eyes for each other. They were engaged in the New Year of 2003 and married just 8 months later in August 2004.
Both of them say they were very nervous about attending a Speed Date event, just like most people are. They were unsure of what to expect and the type of people who attended them but were intrigued enough to want to give it a go – and as you can imagine, they're both very glad that they did.
Chris and Martha say ‘ If you had told us back in November 2003 that going to a speed date event would result in getting married within a year, we would never have believed it! Helen a 39 year old PA from Telford met David 37, a Farmer from Welshpool at our Shifnal Speed Date in April 2004. Following a whirlwind romance they celebrated their engagement after just 6 months in October 2004 and got married exactly 12 months later on Saturday 8th October 2005. 44 year old Charles Sahlani, an Export Sales Manager from Tamworth met Kath Satterthwaite a Department Store Manager from Wolverhampton at our Shifnal Speed Date event in August 2004 and got engaged 4 months later on 6 th December 2004 . ‘K ath is truly my soulmate, the one I have been looking for all my life. We have been spending every single weekend together since speed dating. It is really like a continuous honeymoon and although we both had bad experiences in relationships in the past, we are not worried the slightest about our future together because we have both learned that it is the here and now that counts and we are making the most of it. Mena a 28 Local Government officer from Telford met Julian also 28 from Ludlow at our speed date in June 2004 and got engaged on New Years Eve 2004. Here's what they say.
‘ Despite neither of us attending the event with any serious expectations of meeting anybody, and treating it as a bit of a laugh, we have both been really happy that we attended and met one another. After a lovely 6 months, we got engaged on New Year's Eve 2004 and are looking forward to our future together. Melissa, a Dental Nurse from Pant near Oswestry and Alan a Training & Development Consultant from Much Wenlock met at one of our speed date events in September 2004. They both, very quickly, fell in love with each other and 3 months later, on Christmas Eve 2004, Alan asked Melissa to marry him. Just eight months from their first meeting they enjoyed a wonderful wedding in Oswestry in May 2005 followed by a honeymoon on a Scottish island. Kerry Beard & Richard Bennett – now living together
Kerry a 37 Retail Manager from Church Stretton met Richard a 43 year old Process Engineer from Telford but working on the south coast. They met at our speed date in Shifnal, February 2004 and a year later their relationship has developed into a serious commitment as they are now living together. Lucky, a 29 year old Lecturer from Telford met Davey a 40 year old Woodland Worker from Kinnerston at an expressdate in August 2003. Following the Speed Date they dated for some months ‘Davey was really romantic' quotes Lucky ‘with surprise gifts and picnics by waterfalls'. Then one night while they were asleep Lucky woke up screaming & suffering from excruciating pain – Davey became her ‘Knight in Shining Armour' by virtually saving her life and staying by her Hospital bedside until she made a recovery. ‘ Expressdate brought a fantastic man into my life.
